Barrie police will be holding a pedestrian safety awareness month in January, warning pedestrians of the dangers of crossing roadways.
This after a man was taken to hospital with critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Wellington Street on Wednesday.
The 49 year old was then transported to a Toronto hospital.
No charges have been laid.
Police say this is about the 6th case of pedestrians being hit in 2015 with two being fatalities.
