A new health warning out today – related to how children sit down.
Experts say that sitting in the “W” position can be bad for a child’s development later on in life.
They say that children who continue having their legs in the W position after their 2nd birthday may not properly develop the core strength and balance they need for certain motor skills, like jumping and running. It may also leave muscles tight in the legs, hips, and ankles, as well as possibly leading to a hip dislocation.
They also say it could leave your child walking “pigeon-toed.”
Best way for a child to sit? “Long Sitting” – where their legs are out in front of them.

I don’t remember ever sitting like that as a child – looks kinda painful actually.
