The arrival of snow and the subsequent cold snap have been good news for local ski hills.
Sarah Hutter at Mount St Louis Moonstone says the season got off to a late start, but skiers and snowboarders are enthusiastic.
“We’ve had a fantastic opening weekend and we look forward to some very busy days ahead since everyone is ready to ski and snowboard! We’ve been waiting long for this season to begin.”
Over at Blue Mountain, Tara Lovell says there is a solid base and all the lifts are running and she expects they can catch up.
“Come January there’s still a lot of season left and we’re going to do everything we can to stretch it out.”
Both say the above zero temperatures expected this weekend are no cause for concern – in fact, they’re expecting the warmer temperatures will bring out the crowds.
