There’s a guy named Abe Hagenston – he’s homeless and spends his time begging for money on a Detroit street corner.
But now, he’s making it easier for people to donate to him.
He takes Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
Using his cell phone, he’s able to take a donation of any amount.
He says he paid just $10 bucks for the credit card reader and he has to pay about 3% for every credit charge he processes.
Right now, he says he takes in about $20 to $50 bucks a day on credit but he says more and more people are using credit cards.
Now, we have people asking for money in different parts of Barrie everyday – the Bayfield 400 off ramp, the area around Walmart in the south end, and some other sections of town. Would you be more likely to donate if they took credit cards?
