Patrick Brown the MPP for Simcoe North has hand delivered a letter to the Premier regarding cutbacks at Georgian Bay General Hospital.
An operational review, done in December, resulted in 108 recommendations to cut costs.
Brown says among them would be cutting the number of ICU medical beds, cutting surgeries to 3 days a week and eliminating the obstetrics unit.
That would mean sending expectant mothers to Barrie or Orillia for service.
Brown says cuts like these would be a serious threat to the region.
There is another public meeting on this issue tonight at 5 at the Christian Island Recreation Centre.
The next is February 3rd in Port Severn at the Baxter Ward Community Centre from 7 to 9 p.m.
Another is set for Feb. 4th at the Elmvale Legion.
