Simcoe North MPP Patrick Brown is standing up for the Georgian Bay General Hospital.
He thinks the hospital should flat out refuse to make any of the cuts to service proposed by the province.
Among them the closure of the obstetrics department and a reduction in ICU beds.
Brown says some locations in North Simcoe are remote and for instance if a woman is having a baby on Christian Island, she possibly wouldn’t make it in time to deliver in Orillia or Barrie.
He says there’s is nothing left to cut at the Midland facility.
Brown, who is also the Ontario PC Leader says he plans to ” kick and scream” about health care cuts in the Legislature.
There are 108 recommendations in total but no specific time frame when they might be put in place.
There have been a number of public meetings dealing with the issues.
