An example of duty before all else.
South Simcoe Police say an ambulance was on its way to a call last night, lights flashing and sirens blaring, when it collided with an oncoming car on Yonge Street between Innisfil Beach Road and 7th Line.
The paramedics inside the ambulance got out of the ambulance and tended to the driver of the car, before tending to their own injuries.
Eventually other paramedics showed up to take over, and fire crews assisted in getting the driver out of the car – he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police believe speed and road conditions were factors in the crash.
