Sometimes, I’ve been accused of being a little on the cheap side….or being frugal.
But, to be honest, I’m not near as cheap as Ilona Richards. Ilona is a retired truck driver who is well known as ‘Britain’s most frugal woman’.
How cheap is she?
Get ready for this…
If anyone goes to visit her, she tells them to bring their own tea bags.
She saves ink – and therefore, doesn’t buy as many pens – by making her handwriting smaller.
She takes a bath weekly to save water – and she uses that old bathwater to flush the toilet once a day.
She makes a bottle of dish soap last for an entire year.
Her meals are usually vegetable stew made from expired produce. She makes it last an entire month.
She doesn’t own a TV and her hairdryer is over 30 years old.
The carpet on her stairs is patched with duct tape.
A tube of toothpaste lasts her a year…
and finally, no shock – she only allows one light on in her house at a time.
She ends up saving a lot of cash – but do you think she’s gone overboard?
….or are you going to start taking some of her ideas for your own?
