Some people are upset over what a Dollarama store in Montreal does with its outdated food. They destroy them.
So, their chips, boxes of pasta, chocolate bars, canned food – anything that is past its ‘best before’ date is ripped open and the contents dumped out.
CBC spoke to Dollarama and they said that it is their policy to render expired products unusable. The CBC also spoke to The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says which said that best-before dates are only guidelines. It is possible for food to be safely consumed afterwards.

So, what do you think?
Was Dollarama right to do what they did with the food or should they have given them to a food bank?
