A partnership between Georgian College and Lakehead University will make more than 20 new degree programs available to those studying in Barrie and Orillia.
The first of the new programs will begin as early as September – with two new honours degrees in Business Administration – Management and Leadership, and Interior Design at Georgian Barrie, while a new degree in Commerce will launch in Orillia.
Over the next five years, program expansions will include fields such as health management, gerontology, industrial design, and engineering.
A joint statement from Georgian and Lakehead reads, “Programs will include degrees offered individually by Lakehead and Georgian, as well as innovative integrated degrees offered jointly. These will give many students the opportunity to experience the best of both a college and university education, often earning a degree and diploma in just four years.”
Today’s announcement comes two weeks after Laurentian University announced its departure from Barrie.
