Former CBC radio host Jian Ghomeshi apologized in court to a former a CBC employee that laid a sexual assault charge against him.
Ghomeshi said he recognizes that he crossed boundaries inappropriately.
After the brief court appearance Kathryn Borel, the former CBC employee spoke to the media.
Borel told the media of Ghomeshi grabbing her from behind at CBC and grinding his pelvis into her so as to simulate sex.
The CBC has apologized and says what happened to Borel should have never happened.
Borel says she agreed to the peace bond rather than going ahead with a trial because it seemed like the clearest path to the truth.
The apology is a part of a deal that was reached between Ghomeshi’s lawyer and the Crown attorney that made him sign a peace bond in exchange for a withdrawal of the sexual assault charge.
