Dogs like to go for walks but even they get bored with the same out walk around the neighbourhood.
Barrie’s first pet hiking service , Adventure Houndz, is getting ready to launch officially next month.
Michelle Smith says canine hiking is better for the animals health and well being.
Not only do they like to engage with nature, it makes them use all their senses and use their brains to figure out how to cross over a log or go around a tree.
Dirt and grass are also way easier on the pads of their feet that walking on concrete or snow and ice.
Smith says canine hiking is also known to hep shy or nervous dogs to come out of their shell.
Smith says its always done on leash and she can do solo hikes or pack adventures.
Its a flat rate rather than per hour.
The service is offered in Barrie, Innisfil, Orillia and surrounding areas.
