If anyone was down on Barrie’s waterfront this week and noticed geese being coralled, the city wants to emphasis no geese were hurt or killed.
They were being counted.
Some residents have suggested they saw feathers , blood and droppings along the walkway and were concerned.
The town’s contractor for goose control confirms geese were coralled in the marina basin in order to record their leg band information to determine if they are local or migratory.
Then they were released in the same area.
It is illegal to harm or kill a Canada goose.
