Joseph Currie is from Nova Scotia.
He was arrested last year at a protest against a Conservative government policy.
Currie was yelling obscenities into a megaphone and is now charged with “unlawfully causing a disturbance … by swearing.”
He’ll make a court appearance tomorrow with his lawyer arguing that the use of foul language has become so commonplace.
He points out that his client is not going to say “Golly, darn it, gee, I don’t like the government” – he needed to use swear words to get his point across.
So, what do you think? Should he have been charged?
