The 22nd annual Collingwood Elvis Festival is just days away.
On Thursday, 106 Elvis Tribute Artists and fans descene on the town.
Festival Coordinator Rosemarie O’Brien says some residents don’t like the traffic, noise and parking issues but the local economy really likes the King.
While she understands there are inconveniences for people who live there, the economic benefit to local hotels, restaurants, gas stations and retail outlets far outweighs it.
106 Elvis Tribute Artists will be in competition this year to win the crown and represent Collingwood in Memphis Tennessee at the Ultimate Elvis Competition in August.
Among the new events: The Storytellers Series with various people discussing the impact of Elvis on music, movies, fashion and culture.
They are expecting some 30 thousand visitors over the 4 day festival from Thursday to Sunday.
