If you are the owner of a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phone, you are now NOT ALLOWED to even bring it on the airplane with you if you’re going away.
When I came back from Cancun on Monday, owners of the phone were told to completely power it off, and NOT to use airplane mode.
But now, under emergency orders issued on Friday by both Transport Canada and the U.S. Department of Transportation they have banned these phones from being on the plane at all on flights to and from Canada and the United States or within either country. This includes checked luggage and shipped as air cargo.
Passengers who try to fly with the phones will have the phones confiscated, may be subject to criminal prosecution,
and may face fines
