The atmosphere was electric and the mood was palpable on the WestJet Flight Deck last night. My brother, my brother in law and myself headed down to the Rogers Center to see the Jays fight for their post season lives.
One thing you notice as you make your way into the Flight Deck is cops…everywhere. security was insane and if it looked like people didn’t get to their seats by the start of the game, its because they didn’t.
The cool part was we were right next to the TBS broadcast booth. (tried to sneak in and got asked to leave pretty quick)
Then it came time to find our “seats.”
Well, it was standing room only (which I knew about) but I was ok with that because we were in the second row and had our own table, at least according to the ticket. but, during the playoffs apparently all bets are off and its general admission.
and because we took so long to get it, the only “seats” left were behind the giant rogers sign in center field.
as you can see below, one fan is trying to squeeze a view between the R and the S. But, for my money the best “seat” in the house was behind the O. if you could get behind the O, you could see it all.
Below is a view from behind the O. Sure our view was obstructed, but we could see the game, it was surprisingly cheep at only $70. We had a riot…everyone was in party mode on “The Deck.”
My brother had the line of the night…in a place that has 49,000 seats, you find the 3 behind the ROGERS sign.
