UPDATED: The snow squall warning has been reduced to a watch for now.
Could still see the first significant lake effect snow event of the season Thursday night through Friday.
Special weather statement in effect for:
- Orr Lake
- Lagoon City
Snow squalls are expected to develop Thursday night in brisk northwest winds over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
Latest indications suggest there is potential for a strong snow squall from Georgian Bay into Simcoe County, and another strong snow squall from Lake Huron into Huron, Middlesex and Lambton Counties.
Significant accumulating snow is possible from the strongest snow squalls.
Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow. Motorists planning travel in the regions should be prepared to change plans accordingly.
Meanwhile, flurries off Lake Huron will give locally poor driving conditions to many areas beginning this evening.
