Interac Canada wants to remind everyone they DO NOT add attachments to e-Transfer notifications after there have been a lot of Interac e-transfer scam emails reported to them by their customers.
If you receive an email claiming to be from Interac with an attachment, please do not open it. They want you to forward it to firstname.lastname@example.org so their fraud team can further investigate.
Interac also said The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) does NOT use the Interac e-Transfer service to collect or disburse payments. If you got an email stating that the CRA is trying to send you money or verify personal information, do not respond. This is a known phishing scam.
