Ugh, not this again.
Heads up parents! The “salt and ice challenge” is back and can send your kids to the hospital.
You may remember this “challenge” where kids and teens put salt and ice on their arms for as long as you can and as a result of that you’ll get first and second-degree burns. The effects are really similar to the effects of frostbite.
This trend keeps coming and going and it’s back again and The National Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in the United Kingdom issued a warning to parents about this.
This warning was issued in the UK but you can see on social media that kids around the world who were not aware of this dangerous challenge before are trying to do it now. There’s a video on YouTube of this stupid challenge that has been around since 2012 and recently has garnered more than 6,500,000 views.
Kids and teens who are attempting to do this challenge don’t know it can lead to first and second-degree burns and Metro.co.uk points out, “If the burn is on the face, hands, feet, or larger than the size of the person’s hand it’s likely to be a more serious burn and you should seek further medical advice.”
So it’s you’re a kid or teen trying to do this STUPID challenge, don’t.do.it. It’s dumb and you can seriously get hurt.
