Everyone knows what a maternity leave is but have you heard about a ‘paw-ternity’ leave??
A company in the UK is offering new dog owners a week off to care for their new pets! Brewdog is Scotland’s largest craft brewer and they launched the UK’s first ‘paw-ternity’ leave program. Employees are given a week’s paid leave to look after their new dog.
And after that week is done they can bring their dogs with them to work!
James Watt is the co-founder of Brewdog and he said in a statement,
“It’s not easy trying to juggle work and settle a new dog into your life, and many members of our crew have four-legged friends at home. So we wanted to take the stress out of the situation and let our teams take the time they need to welcome their new puppy or dog into their family.”
“At BrewDog, we care about two things above all else. People and beer. We also just really really like dogs.”
Apparently this cool bonus is available to all BrewDog employees around the world!
Should there be a ‘paw-ternity’ leave program in Canada?
