Canadian hip-hop artist Tory Lanez (Originally from Brampton) is looking at gun and drug charges in Florida.
He’s living in Florida now, and was pulled over in his 2014 Rolls-Royce on Wednesday for having an expired dealer tag.
When he failed to produce a driver’s licence, the officer smelled something unusual coming from the car. After doing a search, the officer found less than 20 grams of pot in the glove compartment and a loaded gun in the center console.
Lanez was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, misdemeanor marijuana possession, failure to register a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and failure to provide proof of insurance.
He was released after posting a $1,000 bond.
He took to social media shortly after to shut down the people saying he “self-snitched” on himself after a video off his Snap Chat from 7 months ago resurfaced. The video included Lanez chuckling as he points the camera first at a box full of bricks of weed and then points it on an open metal case with a rifle inside, which he says was all props for a movie he was shooting.
The charges are punishable by a maximum fine of $5,000 and up to 5 years in prison.
