A medicinal marijuana plant called Medreleaf is expanding from Markham and a new plant is being built in Bradford, which will bring 300 new jobs to the area. The jobs range from minimum wage jobs to positions that require a PHD.
The new plant will be more than 200,000 square feet and it will grow, process and ship out medical marijuana.
Deputy mayor James Leduc says the town is very supportive of the new plant, which recently invested $90,000 through a grant.
Construction of phase 1 of the facility is now finished and production will begin in two weeks.
A job fair is being held on May 6 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and on May 10 between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Bradford Community Centre.
