First Dad’s chocolate chip cookies and now THIS!?!
Skippy peanut butter has been DISCONTINUED in Canada!! According to Hormel Foods, which owns the brand, they actually discontinued the peanut butter in Canada last fall.
On their Facebook page they got a lot of angry Canadians really upset they no longer sell their brand of peanut butter in stores so Skippy told those who still want to enjoy their peanut butter to head over to Amazon.ca, but one jar cost between $10-$30 excluding shipping and there are some jars on the site that cost over $100!!
“We understand that this is difficult news for our loyal fans. However, market conditions at this time do not make it viable for us to continue to offer this product in Canada. Please visit www.amazon.ca for ordering on line for home delivery.”
According to CBC, Hormel told them in an email they had to discontinue their peanut butter in Canada because of the “competition and pricing that hurt the brand’s profitability.”
Skippy peanut butter is still available in more than 60 countries including the U.S and the U.K. BUT NOT IN CANADA!
