The stormy weather that blew through our area yesterday left more than 62-thousand customers without power last night.
Homes in Barrie had some minor damage, including siding and shingles blown off. There were also a few uprooted trees, limbs and fences on people’s property as winds hit 130 km/h.
A barn was blown down in the Hollard Marsh where winds were between 90 and 110 km/h at the time.
A transport truck also flipped over on Highway 400 and hydro poles were downed.
Environment Canada says the damage is consistent with a downburst.
