Barrie Police are asking recreational drug users to be aware of Carfentanil.
Back in March officers responded to a sudden death of a 26-year-old Barrie male on Shanty Bay Road.
A small vile of white powder from the scene was found to be the deadly opioid Carfentanil; which is 100 times more powerful than fentanyl and 10,000 times more potent than morphine.
It’s commonly used by veterinarians to tranquilize large animals. As little as two milligrams can be fatal, it can be found mixed with other drugs and it can’t be smelled or tasted.
