OPP and Barrie Police are turning to videos and have wrapped a cube van to try and close local cold murder cases.
A new Facebook page called Simcoe County Case Files has also been created.
There are four cases being profiled, including the deaths of 17 year old Cindy Halliday, 40 year old April Dobson, and two men from B.C. who could have met with foul play in Barrie.
Here’s more information on each case:
• 17-year-old Cindy HALLIDAY of Waverley, Ontario was last seen hitchhiking near Midhurst on April 20th, 1992. She had been visiting a friend in the City of Barrie. Her remains were discovered in a wooded area of Springwater Township on June 17th, 1992.
• 21-year-old Grant AYERST and 36-year-old Norman WHALLEY of British Columbia were last seen leaving a Toronto hotel on September 11th, 1991. Their remains have never been recovered. Considered missing, it is strongly suspected both met with foul play in the City of Barrie.
• 40-year-old April DOBSON was outdoors, sitting on a porch at a friend’s residence in Barrie when she was tragically shot to death on October 14th of 2005.
