I am an enormous Seinfeld fan, so I may seem biased when saying that it remains the best TV sitcom of all time…
The show debuted on May 31st, 1990 and centered around the life of stand up comedian Jerry Seinfeld.
The iconic characters of Jerry, George, Elaine & Kramer are as funny today as they were 27 years ago. Not a day goes by that I can’t reference a Seinfeld episode in some way, shape or form.
While the fashion on the show doesn’t exactly stand the test of time, but the situational comedy absolutely does and that is the reason why you can still find it on TV at just about any time of day on some channel, somewhere.
Co-Creators; Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld had an uncanny ability to take the everyday mundane occurrence and somehow mold it into an idea for an episode. This is where the show got it’s unofficial tagline “It’s a show about nothing”.
The Hollywood Reporter re-posted a review from 1990 where the critic didn’t see much of a future for the show. It’s funny to look back at that now.

Jerry was joined by fellow cast mates Jason Alexander, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Michael Richards and Larry David to look back fondly at the show that celebrates it’s 27th birthday today!
