A police officer in Wisconsin gave a ‘warning ticket’ instead of a parking ticket because the person left a note that said they didn’t want to drink and drive.
The police officer, Jim Hellrood, spotted a car left at a metered parking spot that was not paid for and when he was about to hand out a ticket he saw a note on the windshield of the car. The note said, “Please take pity on me. I walked home, safe choices.”
The police department shared the note on Facebook and said the Parking Control Officer appreciated the fact that the person made a safer choice and didn’t drink and drive.
