Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman posted a poll on his Twitter account and it looks like Barrie doesn’t want a by-election.
Of the 339 people who voted, 78% said that a councilor should be appointed to the now vacant Ward 6 position.
A by-election would cost about $50,000 and wouldn’t happen until October. If someone was appointed, they would be in by August.
Council will have another round of talks on the issue on Monday.
