Disney has announced plans make the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at its theme parks more family friendly next year, and will losing the “Wench Auction” in favor of being more politically correct.
For over 50 years, this iconic ride included a scene featuring animatronic women being sold in an auction with a banner that reads, “Auction, take a wench for a bride.”
The scene is getting a makeover with a new banner that will read, “Auction, Surrender Yer Loot.”
It’ll feature both men and women handing over goods like art and clocks.
One thing that won’t change is the fan-favorite redheaded animatronic character. She’ll be the one in charge now!
