South Simcoe Police’s Marine Unit responded to a few emergencies over the long weekend.
Saturday afternoon they were notified of a person in a kayak in distress off Innisfil Beach Park. A man in a rented kayak became tired paddling against a heavy wind. His son called for help.
On Monday at midnight, Police responded to two stranded vessels. One boat had engine trouble, the other came to the rescue but also ended up having engine trouble. The 7 people on board were found to be in good health.
