In April of 2016, a nurse at Waypoint Center For Mental Health in Penetanguishine was stabbed multiple times by a patient with a screwdriver. Three other employees were also injured.
Officials fort he center entered a guilty plea on Thursday September 7th for “failing to develop, establish and put into effect measures and procedures to protect a worker from workplace violence”.
There were also two other charges that were laid under the Occupational Health and Safety Act that were dropped.
The Crown Attorney wants Waypoint to pay a fine of $100,000.
The decision will be made in December.
