American Idol returns this March on ABC but it’s coming back without one of the main reasons why many people watched the show: the really bad and funny auditions.
At the Winter TCA Press Tour on Monday (January 8), the leading executive producer Trish Kinane, explained that the show won’t be featuring any really bad singers.
“It doesn’t feel comfortable to put borderline unstable people up on stage and laugh at them.
I think that people once thought that the judges saw everyone, and now you know there’s a line of producers who screen before them. We want the humor, but we don’t want the exploitation.”
I get what she means, but i’m really going to miss the terrible auditions. Without them we wouldn’t have discovered William Hung!
Now that you know you’re not going to see any bad auditions on American Idol are you still going to watch when it comes back March 11??
